Game 4: Traps ‘R Us [Logs]
Written by Bedmyr (Darius099)
Having found the Heiress and hints of Bedmyr’s past, the party was faced with a tough decision. Return with the Heiress now, or search for further evidence of Bedmyr’s lost betrothed?
Though it was a serious force of will, Darius managed to drag Bedmyr along, finally coming safely to the surface and arranging to meet with the Duke. In his presence, he would offer each member of the party a boon, resulting in several party members refusing (Bedmyr, in distraction; Aayla, because the Duke could not solve her problem), and several others taking advantage of his generosity.
On the way back to the tavern, the party came across a fire raging unchecked at a stables, and, braving the flames, Darius and Aayla pushed their way into the building to search for survivors. Coming out singed, limping, and wounded, they carried with them an unconscious groom, Jerry, who would become the follower of Darius. He would begin to teach him how to hold a sword rather shortly thereafter.
As Bedmyr and Rajesh travelled to the Great Library to research the origins of the stone finger, the thief, Roland, would find himself caught yet again with his hand in the cookie jar, getting everyone present in the party thrown out of their lodgings, save for Thom, whose intimidating presence was enough to earn himself a few more glasses of ale.
The next morning, on the 13th of Ibrisi, the traditional horse vs man footrace found two new entrants: Darius and Thom. Thom, entering secretly even from his own party (save Bedmyr who he borrowed the silk scarves from to wrap his head), was the winner, but once he had won, he refused to stop running, and thus the second place runner, Darius, was the winner, and was knighted.
After a brief party, the adventuring crew set out to figure out what exactly was going on in the sewer tunnels, finding, eventually, themselves face to face with a small crowd of wheeling and dealing goblins, led by a female goblin named Amie. Amie stated that she had seen a statue in a pool of water, once, but it was beyond a chamber filled with all manner of spiders, from tiny to gigantic, and thus the party trod with caution.
A few terrifying minutes of desperate combat in the dim and faltering light of the caverns later, and the party was left with a statue in a pool of water, wondering the age old question.
…how the hell do we get this thing out of here, anyways?
